We are proud of our Origin Green Gold Membership status 2021
Our Gold Membership status acknowledges our commitment to sustainability and our exceptional performance, going above and beyond the targets we set out in our sustainability plan encompassing:
  • Target 95% of raw materials sourced from Sustainable suppliers
  • Target 20% reduction in packaging (plastic) by 2023
  • Manufacturing: 5% Target reduction in electricity by 2023
  • Waste: 5% Target reduction in waste tonne/tonne by 2022
  • Water: 3% Target reduction in water usage by 2023
  • Emissions: Target CO2 Emissions Maintenance (2017) levels
Throughout 2020, led by Bernie Carty, the Green Team championed the reduction of waste levels, along with efficient energy and water usage.  Despite Covid and increase in use of PPE general waste, there has been a decrease in waste.

Initiatives included a move to more sustainable waste suppliers, segregation of plastic waste in production, and reduction in packing raw materials, leading to significant increase in recycling as opposed to land fill.

“Oliver Carty & Family has decreased waste levels by 37.1 tonnes from previous year, primarily from a decrease in both recycled waste and Category 3 waste.”
