Ours is a story that began almost three quarters of a century ago. At the family home in Arcadia, Athlone, Oliver Carty cooked, dressed, weighed and wrapped his first ham and ‘The Carty Way’ was born. Now, as then, it’s a way of doing things that not only embraces time-honoured traditions and an unmistakable sense of Irishness, it also puts innovation, imagination and a passion for quality at the heart of everything we do.

We have our own smoke-house and only use natural woods like beech, oak & cherrywood. Passed from generation to generation of the family, ‘The Carty Way’ follows a pure and simple recipe. Our family kitchen

Oliver Carty started the business, which to this day proudly bears his name, way back in the 1950s. He started small, with a cooker that could hold just 10 hams.
