Our family kitchen
Oliver Carty started the business, which to this day proudly bears his name, way back in the 1950s. He started small, with a cooker that could hold just 10 hams.
Beginning in 1970, a succession of moves to ever bigger premises to cope with the ever growing demand for Carty products culminated in the purchase of a 5-acre site in Athlone in 2003. It’s here, little more than stone’s throw from where it all began, that the family have built a state-of-the-art facility employing over 150 people from the local area.
Whilst we’re proud of our past, times change and we change with them. On-going research, innovation and new product development means we can adapt, bring fresh ideas to the market, extend our product range, improve our sustainability and sourcing standards as well as deliver added value for our customers.
It’s an extended family affair too. With each and every member, including our colleagues, not only inspired by what’s gone before but also passionate about what’s still to come.
